"Mary Mother of Rock"
Mary was a woman
Mary was a saint
Some said her virgin loins were barren
Such a shame and waste
But along came a rock god
And then Mary was late
I don't need to tell you what happened
But a child awaits...and it changed our fate
They say heaven cried a waterfall
The day he was born
When the child took his first breath
He screamed a gospel of his own
Thou shalt push your pelvis to the rhythm
Thou shalt strap your guitar on
And sweet Mary ooh she was proud
The day she heard her son sing out loud
Mary Mother of Rock
You brought the world a total shock
Now everyone's in leather and raisin' hell
Don't wanna go to heaven I'm sure you can tell
Now we live and breathe in a bloody mess
And we don't like to be clean
The child has now grown into a prophet and thus spoke
Keep your rock crude and mean
Mary Mother of Rock
You brought the world a total shock
Now everyone's in leather and raisin' hell
Don't wanna go to heaven I'm sure you can tell
THOU SHALT
Push your pelvis to the rhythm
THOU SHALT
Punish your guitar
THOU SHALT
Crank the volume baby
Till everything blows apart
Mary Mother of Rock
You brought the world a total shock
Now everyone's in leather and raisin' hell
Don't wanna go to heaven I'm sure you can tell
We like hell..

"A song has to appeal sentimentally, intellectually, physically, visceraly, dig deep down into your soul and suck you into it. After that, of course, it'd be a matter of taste." - Kim Thayil
